Rheumatoid Arthritis – Types

Arthritis is a common problem among people throughout the world. One type of arthritis is rheumatoid arthritis. If this type of arthritis affects children, it is known as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. This disease is characterized by pain and stiffness in the joints of children.

Many children previously suffering from juvenile rheumatoid arthritis have reported complete recovery from temporary treatment. However, like adults, a few children need continuous treatment to deal with their arthritis. Since rheumatoid arthritis can make the lives of children extremely difficult, hindering their progress and taking their concentration away from education, these children must learn to deal with this disease to minimize its effects.

Although there is no known cure that can prevent juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, there are ways through which the symptoms of this can be prevented. One such method is a plan management plan which contains a combination of heat treatments, exercises, counseling, breathing exercises and relaxation exercises. In this plan, counseling, which is also called cognitive behavior therapy, psychotherapy or just therapy, is especially important.

This is because the affected child suffers not only from physical pain but also from mental tension. In this situation, a professional counselor can find out what is affecting the child emotionally. The counselor can also teach the child how to stay mentally strong while dealing with arthritis. The child should meet with the counselor regularly.

Nowadays a lot of counselors are qualified to deal with children. They come from a variety of professions. Some examples are licensed professional counselor, psychologist, clinical social worker, and psychiatrist.
